Gagami / Moth Clan Empty

~Summon Template~

Name: Gagami (Moth Spirits)

Goddess: Shiran-Muchi
King: Oboroyo-Domo
Adolescent: Yumehana-San
Child: Sakushi-Chan

God Ranked Summon: The supreme ruler of the Moth Clan would be Shiran, or by her preferred manor of address, Shiran-muchi. She is no bigger than Oboroyo, but her coloration is distinct among all those in the Moth Clan. The bulk of her body is made up of a striking purple-blue shade, but the spiraling lines in her wings that make up a moth's 'eye patterns' are all made up of shimmering, iridescent scales of an absolute rainbow of colors. Her antennae are also quite long; longer than she is tall.

Shiran has all the mannerisms of a "goddess"; her speech is always perfectly refined and she demands total respect bordering on reverence from her summoners. On the other side of that coin, she believes that her duty is to watch over whomever she offers the chance to sign her contract. She's not the type to get bogged down with absolutist concepts of right and wrong, and merely does what is necessary to preserve the "justice" of those entrusted with the contract. She claims to have been tasked by Tsukuyomi herself to do just that: hence her unwavering dedication. Between lethal techniques and Genjutsu, Shiran has a strong preference for preserving life.

King/Queen Ranked Summon: Oboroyo is quite large; if he landed on a house his wingspan would drape over the two adjacent ones. The only coloration he possesses are black, white, and shades of gray. The 'eye patterns' on his wings are also quite obviously skulls.

His mannerisms are rough, if not downright crude, and his personal line of thought is that "You gotta' get your wings dirty to protect the holder of the contract." He doesn't particularly care if someone he sees eye to eye with uses honorifics, but failing to do so when he doesn't see you as 'worthy' will get you harshly belittled. He's a no-nonsense guy that believes that only the strong should be allowed to sign the contract. This makes him hard to deal with as a low level ninja, but allows stronger ninja to win his trust simply by proving themselves in battle. His preference us toward offensive Ninjutsu rather than Genjutsu.

Adolescent Ranked Summon: Yumehana is outfitted in shades of pink; darker around the edges and lighter towards the center. That is except for her 'eye patterns', which are white and quite obviously shaped like Sakura flowers. She's about the size of an average four door car, and can comfortably accommodate a passenger as she flies.

She's easy to get along with, and not too picky about who summons her unless they intend to use her as a meat shield. Her attitude is very level, and she often provides very insightful comments in the heat of battle. She is evenly balanced in both Ninjutsu and Genjutsu, making her versatile but not especially great at either one.

Child Ranked Summon: Sakushi has just recently become old enough to be of use in combat and is chomping at the bit to prove it. He's a nondescript purple color, with black eye markings not unlike that of an ordinary moth. About the size of a small dog, he's still huge for a moth. However, he won't be handing out rides any time soon.

Enthusiastic would be the word to describe Sakushi. In his excitement, he can often times completely gives away what he and his summoner are planning. Because of this, whether or not he is a help or hinderance is up to interpretation. To his credit, he's pretty darn good at casting Genjutsu for his skill level, but if he blurts out what he did it may not be much help.

Description: While looking like what you would expect to see if a moth were expanded to gargantuan proportions, all of the members of the moth clan share one strange trait. In the center of what could be though of as their foreheads is set a jewel of the same color of their 'eye markings'. Another shared trait is the unique wavy shape of their wings.

Contract Type: In order to be eligible to sign the contract, a candidate must dedicate an hour to prayer at the Moth Shrine located on the Hitsuki Clan's grounds. They are not given any instructions except to talk about the burdens on their heart. Based on this preliminary examination, they may or may not be given the honor of signing the scroll. The signing is performed with the blood of the candidate, and is witnessed by the current master of the scroll. The master of the scroll is decided every 20 years by an internal vote amongst the Moth Clan.

~Jutsu~

Name: Tengen: Mugen Ryouran (Heavenly Illusion: Infinite Profuse Blooming)
Description: With a flap of her mighty wings, Shiran casts a powerful Genjutsu over a huge area. (Large enough to send an entire Hidden Village into slumber.) Victims of the illusion believe that everything in sight (including themselves) quickly becomes covered in a thick layer of fragrant pink flowers. To each victim, the blooms feel ludicrously heavy; enough to drive them to the ground and keep them pinned there, immobile. The 'scent' of the flowers also induces a heady, blissful state. The illusion has the potential to last for weeks if neither the user nor victim dispel it. Shiran's control over the illusion is so great that she can cherry-pick who falls under it, even when thousands of targets are involved.
Jutsu Type: Genjutsu
Jutsu Grade: S
Stamina Cost: 40

Name: Futon: Kuutaichimisairu (Wind Release: Air-to-Ground Missile)
Description: With a flap of their wings, the user sends out a massive sphere of compressed air that detonates on impact with enough concussive force to leave a crater.
Jutsu Type: Ninjutsu
Jutsu Grade: A
Stamina Cost: 23

Name: Genjutsu: Ga no Kiri (Genjutsu: Moth Mist)
Description: With a flap of their wings, the user creates generates a veil of mist as well as moths that appear to be made of mist themselves. The victim of the jutsu cannot see clearly beyond a 10 foot range as long as they are caught in the jutsu.
Jutsu Type: Genjutsu
Jutsu Grade: D
Stamina Cost: 6

Name: Futon: Dokukaze (Wind Release: Poison Wind)
Description: With a flutter of their wings, the user sends out a wave of buffeting wind laced with poison dust. The poison isn't life threatening, but it acts more or less like you would expect any poison to.
Jutsu Type: Ninjutsu
Jutsu Grade: B
Stamina Cost: 17

~Background~

People Under Contract: Toshi Hitsuki

Background: The history of the Moth Clan, according to Shiran herself, starts in an ancient time when the descendants of Tsukuyomi first began to multiply on the earth. The Moth Spirits were created and tasked with guarding the Goddess' children against the dangers of the world, including the familiar spirits of other vengeful deities. For the longest time, the Moth Clan was revered by those descendants, incidentally being those that lived in the forested area that is now Konoha. Eventually, however, man learned to fend  for themselves: both through the invention of technology and learning to practice the spiritual arts thar would eventually become known as Ninjutsu. Borders shifted, people migrated and interbred, and the proud lineage of Tsukuyomi vanished almost entirely. The obsolete Moth Clan was eventually forgotten, and the shrine that maintained their connection to the human world fell into disrepair.

Fast forward several hundred years into the future. In a time of political turmoil, a priestess named Hanako Hitsuki who lived in the Land of Fire was discovered to have a very unusual spiritual power. Able to see into the ether of reality between the worlds of humans and spirits, she began to attract requests from all over the surrounding region to communicate with the spirits of shrines, either to lift perceived curses or pray for bounty. Being able to actually communicate with the spiritual realm, her prayers were actually answered. Because of this, she began to garner a devoted following that saw her as some sort of deity come down to earth. Worried for his political position, the current ruler of the outlying lands saw to it that false witnesses were brought forward to declare her a "witch in league with evil spirits". His gambit successful, the ruler had Hanako banished from the county and wiped his hands of her for good.

Having no immediate family, Hanako simply wandered doing her best to survive; offering blessings and doing simple labor in exchange for food and shelter. The rumors of her possible 'connections' spreading ahead of her, though, she could not find a village that would take her in.

It was when she found herself in the newly formed ninja village of Konoha that she was shocked by the open arms of what is now known as its first Hokage. Offering her a new home, he even offered her purpose in life by pointing her towards the mysterious shrine located deep in the surrounding forest. Perhaps she could unlock its mysteries? That she did, and reaching out to the long forgotten Moth Spirits she saw a once proud Clan that had lost its pride and purpose. Reminded of herself, she offered to tend to the shrine and reestablish the connection between humans and the Moths. What Hanako did not know was that her 'unusual spiritual power' was the genetic manifestation of her surprisingly pure lineage as a descendant of Tsukuyomi. Seeing that Hanako both had the chakra of their master and was pure of heart, the Moths accepted and thus the current contract as we know it was reistablshed. Ever since that day, the Hitsuki clan has been responsible for the upkeep of the Moth shrine, and has been afforded the protection of the Moths in exchange.
